Disposal of waste material

Waste disposal methods are one of the main issues currently under investigation by European institutions that have long ascertained the environmental unsustainability of practices such as the deposit/storage and destruction of waste material, an inadequate disposal process producing harmful pollutants. The only acceptable solution, for the present and the future, is the recovery and recycling of waste, when possible. In this way, environmental protection is combined with significant savings, both for individuals and for the community.

Waste material: sustainable disposal with “Il Truciolo Group”

For almost thirty years the companies of Il Truciolo Group have been operating throughout Italy in the field of disposal of waste material from production activities, with cutting-edge techniques and ecosystem-friendly practices which have let to the achievement of the prestigious European EMS (Environmental Management System) Certification in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 14001 standards. The group’s attention to the environment is reflected in periodic reviews of the territory and in the systematic deployment of photovoltaics, which meets 50% of the company’s energy demand for the operation of plants and machineries.

Sectors of activity

The recovery action of Il Truciolo Group, operating in Como with highly qualified and specialised staff, covers the sectors of industrial and metal waste. Its commitment is certainly not limited to the neighbouring provinces and areas (such as Varese, Monza and Brianza, Milan, Cantù or Lecco), but its attention is always turned on the entire Italian territory, with the collaboration of other recovery platforms. Materials are recycled in accordance with the EU requirements governing the transformation of residues into raw materials in order to reinsert them in various ways in the production process and, so to speak, to bring them back “to life”.

Waste-to-energy process

Thermoelectric energy production through controlled combustion processes (the so-called waste-to-energy process) of waste with high energy efficiency, whose destruction would entail an unnecessary and harmful waste of resources, is one of the implemented recycling practices. Il Truciolo puts the efficiency of its plants and the professionalism of its technicians at the service of users to achieve the common goal of a cost-effective waste management for customers.

Minor transformations

The disposal and recovery of specific types of waste material may also be carried out with modifications that, though not altering its essence, make it suitable for reuse. Finally, in certain cases, waste does not undergo transformation processes, but is simply reused for different purposes than the original ones.

The recycling of waste is, today, a choice determined also by the need to protect public health from the devastating effects of polluting emissions generated by the destruction of the enormous quantity of waste produced each year in industrialised countries. According to the ISPRA (ISPRA, acronym for, Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale is the Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) report 2016, in 2014 Italy produced approximately one hundred and thirty tons of “special waste”, i.e. also hazardous waste from various kinds of production activities, and recycled ¾ of it, figuring among the most advanced European countries as far as waste disposal practices are concerned.
